Since its inception in 1996, the vision of the Fine Arts Connection of Thomaston has been to create an organization dedicated to promoting the varied expressions of creativity in the realm of fine arts. One focus of this vision is to expose adults and children alike to the many diverse forms of art that exist in and around Thomaston, CT such as theater, music, dance, writing, painting, photography and many more.

It is recognized that the arts serve to assist a person in experiencing a greater satisfaction with life, either as a member of an audience or as a participant. The audience can listen to or observe and absorb what the artist has presented, while the participant can express his or her inner soul through the music, words, camera eye, dance, or canvas. No matter how one experiences the arts, experiencing them is paramount to one’s enjoyment of life, for life, in itself, is art.

STILETTO to perform for the 2025 season of free summer concerts in Thomaston on July 14th

TONIGHT’s Concert WILL be held at the Thomaston Opera House, 158 Main Street, Thomaston due to rain forecast.

The 2025 season of free concerts in the Park continues on Monday, July 14th at 7 pm with a concert by STILETTO. The concerts are returning to the renovated Seth Thomas Park on South Main St. in Thomaston. Each concert begins at 7 pm and concludes at 8:30 pm. In the event of inclement weather, this concert will move to the Thomaston Opera House, 158 Main Street. The concert series is indebted to the Thomaston Savings Bank Foundation for core funding.

Stiletto is a high-energy party band, providing a carefully curated and unique musical experience! Their musicians have played, and currently work with, some of the biggest acts in the world, as well as Tony Award-winning Broadway productions. They pride themselves on their ability to get everyone up and dancing. Stiletto provides an unforgettable Billy Joel tribute that will have everyone singing along to their favorites.

Alcohol is not permitted in the Park by Town ordinance. Bring your friends and your love of music to Thomaston Opera House on Monday, July 14th!! All ages welcome, and the Opera House is air conditioned and handicap-accessible.

WRITER’S GROUP!

The Fine Arts Connection of Thomaston (FACT) announces the creation of a Writer’s Group!

Writing is a form of art, which is the purpose of the Fine Arts Connection of Thomaston! Writing, like drawing, painting, music, dance, pottery can be a way of an individual expressing their thoughts or feelings. Creative writing runs the gamut from simple journaling, to writing a book! We would love to have writers join us for our monthly meetings to learn from each other. We can all improve our writing skills with confidence, and the support of other members. Currently, we are working on a literary magazine that will showcase our writings, along with photos and art from other FACT groups. Our next meeting is on Thursday, June 26th at 5:00 pm in the Meeting Room 1 at the Town Hall. Do join us!

The Ten-2-One Artists and some passer-byes have painted these sunflowers.
In fact, artists across the world have been painting sunflowers to show solidarity for Ukraine. According to a 1993 Encyclopedia of Ukraine, in the context of war, sunflowers signify that Russia will not crush Ukraine’s spirit. This public art piece was created to journey forward to bring awareness.

The Artists of Fine Arts Connection of Thomaston hope that a business, organization, or person would be interested and willing to publicly display this tribute and coordinate donations to help the people of Ukraine.

Due to construction in the Town Hall, the Crescent Gallery is closed until further notice. The Ten-2-One Artists are currently meeting in the auditorium of St. Peter’s-Trinity Episcopal Church next door to the Town Hall. Many thanks to St. Peter’s-Trinity Episcopal Church for hosting us!
