The Fine Arts Connection of Thomaston announces the next exhibit at the Crescent Gallery, 158 Main Street Thomaston. The Ten -2-One Artists are proud to show off over 50 pieces of art. The theme for this show is “Find the Time”. There are many creative renditions of the time theme. One watercolor artist painted her depiction of Stonehenge, while another rendered a sweet portrait of the White Rabbit in “Alice in Wonderland” with a pocket watch. Another watercolor embraced an imaginary tea time. There are two acrylics of Thomaston Clock Towers and even one of Big Ben. Two artists made clocks. Some artist submitted spring flowers, bright spring gold finches, mushrooms and flowers. Many chose to interpret landscapes to capture a moment in time. The variety of mediums and styles is striking.

The show opens Thursday, May 2 and runs till July 18.

The Gallery is open every Thursday from 10am-1pm during our open studio sessions.

A special event and open house will be Sat. May 18th 10:30-3pm.

The Fine Arts Connection of Thomaston (FACT) will hold an ‘Art Around the Hall’ event on Saturday, May 18th from 10:30 am to 3 pm at the Thomaston Town Hall, 158 Main Street. The free event centers around the theme “Find the Time.” All day activities include an art show featuring paintings by the talented FACT Ten-2-One Artists and photos by the gifted FACT Camera Club, a ‘timely’ Photo Booth, Child’s Fairy Garden, Find the Time Match Game, Find the Time Search, Sidewalk Chalk, and Bubbles.

From 11-2, White Memorial Foundation will present a program featuring live animals: owl, salamander, and a snake or turtle in the Crescent Gallery. An Art Pour by artist Patricia Ward will be held in the Gallery from 1-3, while attendees listen to music provided by folk musician, Tom Turci.

Visitors are encouraged to attend this free family event, and partake in the various activities, including free tours of the Thomaston Historical Society’s Seth Thomas display on the 6th floor of the Thomaston Town Hall, and free tours of the Seth Thomas Bradstreet House across Main St. from the Town Hall. Schedules of the upcoming free summer concerts will also be available for the asking. Bring the whole family for a fresh, fun perspective of the Arts!

The White Memorial of Litchfield, CT will present Wildlife Outside Our Windows on Saturday, May 18 from 11 am to noon in the Crescent Gallery, 158 Main Street, Thomaston. This is a formal interactive sit-down program as part of the Art Around the Hall event sponsored by the Fine Arts Connection of Thomaston.

The highlight of this program is getting to meet a few live CT creatures up close.
